UPS Part-Time Health Insurance Enrollment
Print this article
In the Willow Grove hub, there are signs everywhere advising part-time employees to enroll in the new UPS health plan for part-timers. This has many of the people in the hub asking questions about why enrollment is necessary and who needs to do it.
It’s important for part-time employees affected by the changes in the pending Teamster/UPS contract to go through the enrollment process beginning December 10. While all my sources assure me no part-time employees will be losing health benefits (even if they don’t enroll), those who fail to take part in the enrollment may find themselves stuck in a health plan option they don’t like. So it’s vital that all affected employees take the time to complete the enrollment in order to choose the health plan option most suited to their needs.
And finally, despite some bad information disseminated by a few supervisors regarding who is affected by the new health plan changes, no full-time employees will need to take part in the enrollment - not even Article 22 full-timers.
